Welcome to the home page of Rehan Ahmad at Imperial College London! Our research team specializes in research in speech spignal processing technologies utilizing adaptive filtering procedures. At present our research focus is heavily on Acoustic Speech Dereverberation through blind multichannel identification and channel inversion

The explosive expansion of modern communication systems has been based, to a large extent, on sophisticated techniques for analyzing and processing signal in digital form. The members of the Communications and Signal Processing Group are ventrally involved and crucially positioned to influence and contribute towards the development of these areas. The inexorable increase in demand in wireless communications, both in the number of users and in wider bandwidth services, has a direct link with the development of sophisticated signal processing algorithms, while improvements in these algorithms report onto the communications systems environment. Significant questions relevant to Communications and Signal Processing include: How can images be compressed without significant degradation? What is the best way of designing a communication network? How can we optimally increase the utilization of available communication system resources? How are services, such as health, banking and home entertainment to be deliveredflexibly and in a verifiable manner? The continuing research effort of the Group addresses such questions amongst the many areas currently under investigation.
