Shouhong received his BEngSc and MEngSc degrees in electronic engineering from Northwestern Telecommunication Engineering Institute (now Xidian University), Xi'an, China in 1985 and 1988, respectively, and his PhD degree in time keeping and disseminating from Chinese Academy of Sciences, China in 1996, and his second PhD degree in communications and signal processing from Imperial College, London, UK in 2005.
He joined Shaanxi Astronomical Observatory (National Time Service Center), Chinese Academy of Sciences in 1988. On leave from there, from 1999 to 2000 he spent one year at Communications and Signal Processing Group, Imperial college, UK as a visiting scholar. Since then, he has been working and studying in the same group.
His research interests include signal processing and its applications to various electronic systems and engineering, especially wireless communications, etc. His current interests focus on wireless communications networks, cooperative transmission strategies, cross-layer protocol design and evaluation, etc.
