Talk Title: "Joint Optimal Video Content Caching and QoE-Driven Video Streaming"

Abstract: The HTTP/TCP based video content distribution such as downloads from YouTube, BBC's iPlayer, NetFlix and Ustream has been producing dominate data traffic across all types of network including the Internet and cellular mobile networks. Ensuring quality of experience (QoE) in delivering rich media content such as video streaming in mobile networks has become a major challenge for service providers and network operators as this type of applications is highly demanded and bandwidth consuming. In this talk, we will first introduce an objective and non-intrusive QoE metric which is closely correlated with the subjective quality measures such as MOS (Mean Opinion Score). We will then discuss the approach to addressing the challenge by combining content caching and streaming schemes controlled by the QoE metric, to provide video content services in LTE/5G systems and meet latency, scalability, fairness and user satisfaction requirements.
