Biography
Athanasios (Thanos) Gkelias received his Diploma in Electrical and Computer Engineering (major in Telecommunications) from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece, in 2000. He received his MSc and PhD degrees in 2001 and 2006, respectively, both from the Department of Electronic Engineering, King's College London. Currently, he is a post-doctoral researcher at Imperial College London working for the EU-funded IST-MEMBRANE project. In the past, he has participated in other IST funded projects such as MIND and e-SENSE. In 2006, he worked as an Associate Consultant for Ovum's Telecoms Consulting Group in London. His research interest lie in the area of wireless ad-hoc and sensor networks, particularly in the performance analysis and design of medium access control (MAC), QoS routing and cross-layer issues.
