Speech and audio processing research in the Communications and Signal Processing Group at Imperial College London, is addressing the fundamental science of speech and audio processing as well as technology applications particularly in telecoms and audio interfaces. Recent topic areas include echo cancellation, dereverberation, speech enhancement, SIMO/MIMO acoustic system identification, speech recognition, blind source separation/extraction, speaker verification, speech analysis, Digital Audio Broadcast (DAB).

This Special Issue has arisen out of the EUSIPCO 2005 Special Session on the same topic last September in Antalya, Turkey. - February 2, 2006 Congratulations to Alex Wright, PhD., who graduated December 2005. Alex’s work was on blind and supervised adaptive algorithms for IQ mismatch and frequency offset compensation in COFDM DAB.
